3Y-TZP DLP Additive Manufacturing: Solvent-free Slurry Development and Characterization

Vat photopolymerization (VP) stands out among ceramic additive manufacturing processes for its ability to print sub-100 micrometer complex features. One of the main challenges this process is preparation a homogeneous and stable slurry with high solid load low viscosity. In work, different dispersants resins were tested, aiming provide solvent-free suitable DLP manufacturing. Disperbyk-111 PEGDA 250 stood in tests, providing 40 vol% no noticeable sedimentation viscosity 2.3 Pa.s at 30 s-1 despite relatively specific surface area (15 m2/g) 3Y-TZP powder used compared powders usually VP slurries. The adsorption on particles was investigated by FTIR. Finally, bodies 3D printed, debound sintered 1500 ºC 2 h, confirming manufacture detailed dense parts.
